After taking the time to create a health, luscious lawn, the last thing you would want is to have weeds take over your lawn. Weeds come in all shapes and sizes and can be categorized into broadleaf and grass types. Broad leaf weeds, as the name applies, are non-grass like weeds and are usually easy to spot. Some well known type of broad leaf weeds are dandelion, thistle, chickweed and clover.
The process of eliminating broad leaf weeds from your yard can be a simple one. There are many products out there that can kill the weeds while promoting growth of the grass you want to keep. They use chemicals which will kill only the species of plant that have broad leafs. The chemical can be spread using a broadcast spreader, a hose end adapter or even sprayed on using a pump sprayer. A week or two after the application you will soon see the broad leaf weeds start to wither away and die. If you follow the directions of your particular type of application, you will only need one application to get you through the season.
